If your property is located in one of the townships listed below you have until the deadline of January 9th to appeal your 2017 assessment at the Cook County Board of Review.

  • Orland
  • Proviso
  • Jefferson

If you are not sure which township your property is located in you can either contact us with your address and we will look it up for you or you can click here.

The Board of Review is an independent government agency, separate from the Assessor’s office, and it has the authority to reduce property valuation assessments.
If you file a 2017 tax year appeal at the Board of Review, and are successful, it will help ensure that you only pay your fair share in property taxes on your 2nd installment property tax bill which will be issued in July 2018. If you do not appeal at the Board of Review before your township’s deadline you will not have another opportunity to appeal your 2017 assessment.

Contact us for a free professional opinion of your property’s assessment in comparison to others and to discuss whether an appeal makes sense for you. We will only recommend an appeal if we think there is a strong appeal argument that can be made for your property.
