Proviso Township 2022 Assessment Notices Mailed

The Cook County Assessor’s office mailed 2022 property assessment notices on November 30th to Proviso Township property owners. The 30-day window to appeal your 2022 assessed value is now open until the deadline of January 3rd. The following cities, towns, and villages are in Proviso Township: Bellwood, Berkeley, Broadview, Brookfield (northwest 1/2), Elmhurst (portion), Forest Park,, Hillside, La Grange Park (majority), Maywood, Melrose Park, North Riverside, Northlake (south 1/4), Oak Brook (parts), Stone Park, Westchester, and Western Springs (north portion).

We recommend homeowners review their assessments annually and appeal whenever there is a strong evidence-based argument that your property may not be assessed fairly. Proviso Township’s next triennial reassessment is scheduled for 2023. However, if you feel that your assessment is unfair, there is no need to wait to appeal; property owners have the right to appeal yearly at the Assessor’s office and the Board of Review. If you’d like a professional opinion on your home’s assessed value as it compares to similar properties in your neighborhood, contact us for a free, no-obligation review and analysis of your home.

Property values in the Chicagoland area do not stay the same every year. They frequently change as ownership changes, properties are remodeled, and new homes are constructed. Don’t make the mistake of only appealing during your property’s reassessment year.

If you contact us before the January 3rd deadline, we would be happy to review your home’s assessment against the current values of nearby comparable properties and provide our professional opinion on whether or not an appeal makes sense this year.
