Worth Township 2024 Assessment Notices Mailed
On Thursday, July 25, 2024, the Cook County Assessor’s office mailed 2024 property assessment notices to Worth Township property owners. The window for appealing your 2024 assessed value is now open and will remain so until the deadline of September 6, 2024.
Worth Township includes the following cities, towns, and villages: Alsip, Blue Island, Bridgeview, Chicago Ridge, Crestwood, Evergreen Park, Hometown, Merrionette Park, Oak Lawn, Palos Heights (east half), Robbins (north ¼), and Worth (east ¾).
We recommend that property owners review their assessments annually. If you believe your home may not be assessed fairly, it’s important to appeal whenever you have a strong, evidence-based argument. Although Worth Township was reassessed in 2023, you are still eligible to appeal your assessment this year, even if you appealed last year. A successful appeal in 2024 could lead to savings for two years until the next reassessment in 2026. To ensure you are not paying more than your fair share in property taxes, it’s crucial to review your assessment annually and appeal whenever you have a solid case, regardless of where your township stands in the triennial reassessment cycle.
Property values in the Chicagoland area fluctuate frequently due to changes in ownership, renovations, and new construction. Don’t wait for the reassessment year to file an appeal.
If you contact us by the September 6, 2024 deadline, we would be happy to review your home’s assessment in comparison to the current values of nearby comparable properties and provide a professional opinion on whether an appeal is advisable this year.
