Group 4 Opens For Appeals At Board of Review

Townships in Group 4 opened for tax year 2017 property tax appeals at the Cook County Board of Review on October 30^th. If your property is located in one of the townships below you have until the deadline of November 28^th to appeal your property’s 2017 assessment at the Board of Review.

• Leyden
• Lyons
• Stickney

The Cook County Board of Review is an independent government agency, separate from the Assessor, which has the authority to reduce property assessments, so you do not want to miss your opportunity to appeal your assessment at their office. Successful 2017 tax year appeals will help ensure that you only pay your fair share in taxes on your 2^nd installment property tax bill in July 2018. If your property is located in one of the townships in Group 4 and you do not appeal at the Board of Review before November 28^th there is not another opportunity to appeal your 2017 assessment.
