The Cook County Assessor’s office mailed 2019 property assessment notices to Lyons Township property owners on Monday, May 20^th. The following cities, towns, and villages are in Lyons Township: Bedford Park, Bridgeview, Brookfield, Burr Ridge, Countryside, Hickory Hills, Hinsdale, Hodgkins, Indian Head Park, Justice, La Grange, La Grange Highlands, Lyons, McCook, Pleasantdale, Ridgewood, Riverside, Summit, Western Springs, and Willow Springs. The one month window to appeal your 2019 assessed value is now open until the deadline of June 21^st.

The Cook County Assessor’s office mailed 2018 assessment notices to Lyons Township property owners on Monday, May 14^th. If your home is in Lyons Township you have 30 days to appeal your assessment at the Assessor’s office until the deadline of June 14^th.

Lyons Township was reassessed in 2017 but you can appeal your assessment every year. A successful appeal in 2018 may result in two years of savings, until Lyons is reassessed in 2020. We recommend you review your assessment annually and appeal at the Assessor’s office and the Board of Review whenever you have a strong basis for an appeal argument. 2017 reassessment notices for Lyons Township were mailed by the Cook County Assessor’s office on May 25^th. The Assessor’s office is now accepting appeals for property owners in Lyons Township through the deadline of June 26^th.

Cook County divides townships into three groups for the purposes of property reassessments. Each group of townships is then reassessed triennially by the Assessor’s office.
