Attention Cook County homeowners! The Board of Review has officially opened the window for property tax appeals for Group 3 for 2024. If you reside in any of the following townships, now is the time to act:

  • Cicero
  • Elk Grove
  • Stickney
  • West Chicago

Cicero Township 2024 Assessment Notices Mailed

The Cook County Assessor’s office has sent out 2024 property assessment notices to property owners in Cicero Township. You have the opportunity to appeal your 2024 assessed value until the deadline of July 19, 2024. It’s important to review your assessments annually and appeal whenever there is strong evidence that your home may not be assessed fairly. Even if you appealed last year, you may appeal your assessment again this year, potentially resulting in two years of savings until the next reassessment in 2026.

Cicero Township 2023 Triennial Reassessments Mailed

2023 Triennial reassessment notices were mailed to Cicero Township homeowners on Monday, April 17th, 2023. Homeowners in Cicero Township have 30 days to appeal their assessment at the Assessor’s office (there will be a second opportunity to appeal later in the year at the Board of Review, whether you appeal at the Assessor’s office or not). The deadline for appealing at the Assessor’s office is May 17th, 2023.

Cicero Township 2021 Assessment Notices Mailed

The Assessor’s Office has mailed 2021 assessment notices to Cicero property owners. You may appeal your assessment each year during the 30 day window which is now open and will close on July 9th.

Cook County reassesses properties triennially through a mass appraisal system. Cicero was last reassessed in 2020 and if you appealed and were successful on your 2020 tax year appeal you will see those savings this summer on your 2nd installment property tax bill (the 1st installment bill you recently received is always 55% of the previous year’s total tax).
